ProPlus showcases innovative modeling solutions at ICSICT 2010

The 10th International Conference on Solid-State and Integrated Circuit Technology (ICSICT) held at
the Shanghai Pudong InterContinental Hotel on Nov.1-4, 2010. ICSICT is the largest conference specialized
on solid-state and integrated circuit technologies held in China. ProPlus attended this event as a gold
sponsor and demonstrated its innovative solutions on modeling, circuit simulation and verifications.
Dr. Zhihong Liu, the executive board chairman of ProPlus, delivered a keynote speech tilted "Challenge
and Opportunity in Circuit Simulation and Verification", to address the challenges at advanced technology
nodes from different aspects of the design chain, including EDA tools, design flows, Spice models,
foundry solutions, etc. To meet the challenges and design products with competitiveness, EDA tools,
flow and methodologies need to be co-developed at the same time. With its leading position on device
modeling technologies, ProPlus will further strengthen and perfect existing semiconductor device
modeling platform, and contribute to the IC industry with innovative solutions on circuit simulation/verifications
and design flow integrations, etc.

The conference organizing committee also invited Dr. Liu to be a panelist for the panel discussion titled
"Can China IC industry compete with the word and win in the next decade?" "I do believe China IC industry
can compete with the word. China is a late comer to World IC industry, but China is catching up very fast
not only in the IC design self and also in the manufacturing field.", Dr. Liu pointed out, "However,
while semiconductor enters advanced technology nodes, China IC design houses and IC fabrications are
facing more complicated environment, we have strong needs on new methodologies, efficient yet accurate
design flow, rich IP, etc. ProPlus will focus on the innovations of design methodology and design flow
integration in order to improve the competitiveness of China IC.".

In addition, Dr. James Ma delivered an invited talk on "Advances in Bipolar Junction Transistor Modeling" in the same conference.
